City Council approves Workforce Advisory Council

On March 23, the City Council of Commerce City approved the creation of a Workforce Advisory Committee (WFAC) through Resolution 2026-048. The 13-member committee will serve as a temporary, two-year commission focused on strengthening workforce outcomes and supporting a more equitable, future-ready local economy.

Commerce City has seen an increase in the use of electric bikes, electric motorcycles, and off-highway vehicles, such as ATVs and dirt bikes, on streets, sidewalks, and other public areas. To address growing safety concerns, the City Council recently adopted a new ordinance that clarified where certain vehicles can and cannot be used.

E. 68th Avenue Improvements Commerce City is making improvements to E. 68th Avenue to create a safer, more pedestrian-friendly street for everyone who uses it, whether they walk, bike, drive, or take transit. The project spans 0.4 miles of E. 68th Avenue between Colorado Boulevard and Brighton Boulevard (SH 265) and serves nearby neighborhoods, Alsup Elementary School, Rose Hill Grange Park, and residents.
E. 96th Avenue Widening Project Commerce City’s E. 96th  Ave Widening Project expands the roadway to four lanes with a median from Chambers to Tower Roads, adding sidewalks, multi-use paths, new traffic signals, stormwater infrastructure, and completing the Second Creek bridge—to boost mobility, safety, and community connectivity.
