Celebrate Hispanic Heritage with an early afternoon full of culture, music, and community in the heart of Commerce City! Mercado de Derby is a new tradition this year on Sundays, built on Commerce City's history of community, industry, agriculture, and family. During a special Hispanic Heritage celebration at Mercado de Derby, enjoy free live entertainment and family fun, including lotería, face painting, food from local restaurants, booths with community resources, and more!

Additional things to enjoy

  • Lowrider Bike Show & Cultural Exhibition:  A celebration of lowrider bicycle culture as an expression of Chicano creativity, craftsmanship, identity, and community. Features custom lowrider bikes displayed during the Mercado, opportunities to meet bike owners/builders, and recognition of standout bikes.
  • Maíz Cultural Exhibit: An interactive cultural and educational experience exploring maíz (corn) and its importance to Indigenous, Mexican, and broader Latino food traditions.
  •  Free Taco Plates: Enjoy free taco plates for community members, connecting the educational components of the Maíz Cultural Exhibit with traditional foods.
  •  CHAC Cultural & Educational Programming: CHAC will provide cultural and educational programming that strengthens the event's focus on Hispanic and Chicano art, heritage, and community.
  •  Grupo Tlaloc Cultural Performance: A traditional cultural performance bringing Indigenous dance, tradition, and cultural education into the Mercado experience.

A bilingual MC will guide attendees through the celebration, introduce performers and cultural activations, provide announcements in English and Spanish, and highlight participating businesses and vendors.
