The Building Safety Division of Community Development protects the health, safety and welfare of the public by issuing building permits, reviewing construction plans and conducting inspections of work to ensure new and alterations to existing structures conform to the city’s building codes.

Issued permits can now be found on eTRAKiT. Once you create an eTRAKiT account, you can access issued permits for any time period by clicking "Issued Permits Report" under the "Permits" heading.

When should I apply for a permit through Public Works Inspections and Permitting?

Public Works Inspections and Permitting provides a clear guidance on the permits required for work that affects city streets, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and public infrastructure. 

Types of permits that Public Works issues:

  • Right-of-Way Permits (ROW Permits)
  • Grading Permits
  • Capital Investment Permits (CIP Permits)
  • Street Occupancy Permits (SOC Permits)
  • Annual Long Vehicle Combination Permit
  • Oversized/Overweight Single Trip Transportation Permit
