Parks, Trails & Open Spaces

Love the outdoors? You can get outside and enjoy our many parks and trails. Play football, have a family picnic or stretch your legs on a nature hike.

Commerce City has 840 acres of parks and open space throughout the community that include amenities from shelters, barbecue pits, volleyball and basketball courts and links to local trails. The city has over 25 miles of trails, some that link to the larger regional trail systems like the Sand Creek Regional Greenway.

Trail Closure-Second Creek Open Space

Due to the E. 96th avenue widening project, there is a closure of the Second Creek Trail. Please take the Buckley Trail through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to avoid closures along E. 96th and the Second Creek Trail.
