Three New Playgrounds Coming in 2025

Freedom Park (complete!), Fairfax Park (complete!), and River Run Park (constructions starts Fall 2025!) playgrounds are scheduled for replacement in 2025.

CIP Projects

The city uses voter-approved capital improvement funds, impact fees and funding from the Adams County Open Space tax and Colorado Lottery to complete parks, recreation and golf projects.

The city strives to create quality park and recreation areas that best suit the community by involving residents through online surveys and forums and the Parks, Recreation & Golf Advisory Committee.

River Run Park Playground Replacement

Big changes are coming to River Run Park! Beginning September 5, the playground at 11515 Oswego St., next to Thimmig Elementary School, will close for replacement.

The project includes:
• Removal of the current playground and surfacing
• Installation of a brand-new playground with exciting new features

Earlier this year, city staff conducted extensive community outreach to gather input on what families wanted to see in the new playground design. Thanks to that feedback, the updated space—affectionately nicknamed “Rainbow Park” by the community will soon become a colorful and fun destination for play.
