The city uses voter-approved capital improvement funds, impact fees and funding from the Adams County Open Space tax and Colorado Lottery to complete parks, recreation and golf projects.

The city strives to create quality park and recreation areas that best suit the community by involving residents through online surveys and forums and the Parks, Recreation & Golf Commission.

Playground Replacements

Freedom Park, Fairfax Park, and River Run Park playgrounds were each replaced in 2025. The updated playgrounds provide fun and inclusive play for their nearby neighborhoods. The aging playground at River Run Park has been transformed into a brand new play space built with your ideas in mind. Kids can enjoy multiple slides, swings and a tower. Features are crafted for 2-5 and 5-12 year old play in mind.
