Traffic Signal Improvements
Project Details
The City continues to invest in roadway and traffic signal improvements to enhance safety, improve traffic flow and support growing travel demands across the community.
These projects may include new signal installations, timing adjustments, equipment upgrades and intersection enhancements designed to reduce congestion and improve overall operations. During construction, residents and motorists may experience temporary lane closures or minor delays.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to deliver long-term improvements that create safer, more efficient travel for everyone.
IN PROGRESS: E. 120th Avenue Widening Project Traffic Signal Infrastructure
As part of the E. 120th Avenue Widening Project, crews will install new traffic signal infrastructure on E. 120th Avenue at Chambers Road and E. Buckley Road. The work will support future roadway improvements and accommodate the widening of E. 120th Avenue.
Current Status and Impacts
Construction will occur overnight from Monday, June 15, through the morning of Friday, June 19, between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Current Status and Impacts
-
COMPLETED: The new traffic signal will be activated the week of Feb. 16, during the middle of the week. Drivers should be prepared for the signal to be operational and use caution as they travel through the intersection.
-
COMPLETED: As part of the new traffic signal installation at Chambers Road and 105th Avenue, crews will be installing a span wire (stringing wire from pole to pole across the roadway) during the week of Feb. 2.
What to expect:
- Periodic, brief closures of Chambers Road at 105th Avenue will occur Monday through Friday during this work.

Construction at Chambers Road and E. 105th Avenue began Jan. 13. Crews started by potholing the signal pole locations to a depth of 10 feet. Caissons were then drilled to full depth (approximately 20 feet). Signal poles will be set in concrete in the days to follow. Favorable weather helped crews make strong early progress.
-
Nearby businesses will remain accessible through alternate entrances during construction. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures, traffic control, and temporary access restrictions to the shopping centers on both the east and west sides of Chambers Road.
