Livability & Property Improvements
This includes code enforcement support, a housing needs assessment, and partnerships with the non-profit development community for home repairs and property improvements.
Code Enforcement Support
This program area aims to foster community pride and reduce the strain of code enforcement violations by addressing the root causes of non-compliance. The program is designed to assist residents who receive a property violation notice but cannot comply due to a qualifying disability or limited financial resources.
The city recognizes that seniors, those with disabilities, and those without the financial means to resolve property violations sometimes need assistance to meet compliance. Without help, many residents are unsure how to address the issue, leading to additional fines. The goal is to allow all residents to maintain or improve their properties, particularly those who would otherwise be unable to do so. By offering additional support for those residents who need it, we can create a more equitable and vibrant community.

Housing Needs Assessment
A Housing Needs Assessment is conducted under the housing and livability section of the ACT Program. This project will fulfill the city’s statutory requirements outlined in SB 24-174 and provide the city with a roadmap to guide strategic decision making for future housing needs.
Over the summer, community members shared valuable feedback to help identify key priorities and guide next steps. Residents are now invited to attend a virtual meeting to learn about the report’s major findings, key data points, and what comes next for the project. The Housing Needs Assessment report will be published by the end of the year.
