Food Equity

ACT: Advancing City Commerce Together Logo

Partnerships with the nonprofit community will improve access to affordable, nutritious food while promoting education around food equity.

The primary goal of this program area is to provide culturally sensitive meals to the city’s most vulnerable populations. It serves residents most vulnerable to food inequity by partnering with two nonprofit organizations: Volunteers of America and Food Bank of the Rockies. Commerce City has granted $200,000 to each organization. Volunteers of America will host a free weekly lunch at the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center for residents who qualify (per state guidelines). Food Bank of the Rockies will bolster operations for nine hunger relief partners in Commerce City.
