Snow Guardians

The Snow Guardians Program assists Commerce City residents who are unable to clear public sidewalks adjacent to their homes due to age, disability, or other conditions. This program helps qualified residents comply with Sec. 6-2012 of the Municipal Code, which requires property owners to maintain safe and accessible sidewalks.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, residents must:

  • Reside within the jurisdiction of City of Commerce City, Colorado, and

  • Be unable to remove snow from public sidewalks due to one or more of the following:

Note: The Snow Guardians Program only removes snow from public sidewalks and public rights-of-way. Services do not include driveways, porches, or walkways located on private property, and are not available to non-residential properties or locations in unincorporated Adams County.

How the program works

  • One application covers the full snow season (October through February)

  • Residents must re-apply every year

  • Snow removal will continue until seasonal program funds are exhausted

  • Approved applicants will be notified upon acceptance

  • Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis
