The Commerce City Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to keep unused medications out of the wrong hands and out of the environment. Get rid of your expired/unused over-the-counter and prescription medications safely and for free at the King Soopers at 104th Avenue and Chambers Road in Commerce City.

DEA National Drug Takeback Day
Saturday, April 25
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
King Soopers, 15051 E. 104th Ave.

If you can’t make the event, you can always drop off medications in the permanent kiosk inside the Commerce City Civic Center (7887 E. 60th Ave.) anytime during regular business hours.

Leftover medications should never be flushed down the toilet or washed down the drain, as they may not be removed during wastewater treatment and can end up polluting water sources. Throwing items in the trash is not a good idea either, as these drugs can damage the environment or end up in the wrong hands. The safest and best way to discard medicine is through designated safe drop-off locations.
