2026 Commerce City Volunteer Waterway Clean-up

Commerce City is hosting two watershed clean-up activities for the Sand Creek and Second Creek stormwater channels and is recruiting volunteers to help pick up trash while learning about the roles they play in the municipal separate storm sewer system. These events will be held from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Volunteers will be tasked with collecting trash along the embankments of these two watersheds.

  • Saturday, May 9: Sand Creek, 6102 E. 52nd Ave.
  • Saturday, May 30: Second Creek, 10020 Joplin St.

All supplies, including trash grabbers, glove, high visibility vest, and trash bags, will be provided by Commerce City Public Works; water, snacks, and spray sunscreen will also be provided. Commerce City asks that you come prepared with appropriate, comfortable clothing and shoes. Take-home gifts will also be provided.
