2026 Grand Marshal
Commerce City is honored to announce Devan Romero as the Grand Marshal for the 60th Annual Memorial Day Parade. A proud member of the Colorado Army National Guard, Devan has served our country with dedication and courage since 2012.
Throughout his military career, Devan has demonstrated exceptional commitment and bravery. He has deployed twice in service to our nation, including a tour in Afghanistan in 2020 and a recent nine-month deployment in 2025 to Qatar and Jordan. During his first deployment, Devan was awarded the Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal with "C" Device in recognition of his outstanding service. Beyond his military service, Devan is actively involved in the community, particularly through his church. He is also continuing his education, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in intelligence operations with aspirations of attending law school.
Devan is a Colorado native who was born in Alamosa and later moved to Littleton, where he lived until answering the call to serve in 2012. He and his family made Commerce City their home in 2022. Devan is a devoted husband to his wife, Danielle, and a proud father to their two children, Bella (13) and Derek (9).
For Devan, Memorial Day holds deep and personal meaning. He reflects on the lives lost in service to our country and carries a profound respect for fellow service members, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice while leaving behind families. His experiences have shaped his perspective and strengthened his commitment to honoring those who gave everything for our freedoms. This year marks Devan’s first time attending the Commerce City Memorial Day Parade, making his role as Grand Marshal especially meaningful. As he leads this longstanding tradition, we are proud to recognize his service, his sacrifice, and his unwavering dedication to both his country and his community.
