Construction will occur overnight from Monday, June 15, through the morning of Friday, June 19, between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m.

As part of the E. 120th Avenue Widening Project, crews will install new traffic signal infrastructure on E. 120th Avenue at Chambers Road and E. Buckley Road. The work will support future roadway improvements and accommodate the widening of E. 120th Avenue.

 The work schedule includes:

  • Monday, June 15: Crews will work at the intersection of E. 120th Avenue and Chambers Road. Work is expected to be completed early Tuesday, June 16, in the morning.

  • Tuesday, June 16, through the morning of Friday, June 19: Crews will work at the intersection of E. 120th Avenue and Buckley Road during overnight hours.

At both intersections, contractors will replace existing wire-span traffic signals with new signal poles, mast arms, and signal equipment to support the future widened roadway.

Motorists should expect brief closures and traffic control operations during construction. To help maintain traffic flow and safety through the work zone, the contractor will have a traffic control supervisor and flaggers on site throughout overnight operations.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area during construction hours.

The E. 120th Avenue Improvement Project (from Chambers Road to Buckley Road) is being managed by the Buffalo Ridge Metro District. Commerce City is a financial partner in this project.
