First responders encourage you to donate blood and save lives
Published on June 12, 2026
The Commerce City Police Department is inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and help make a lifesaving difference during an upcoming community blood drive on Tuesday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Avenue.
Local blood supplies remain critically low, and donations are needed to help hospitals provide care for patients facing emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, and other medical needs. Every donation has the potential to save multiple lives. To help meet this need, the Commerce City Police Department and South Adams County Fire Department are joining forces for a friendly competition to see which department can inspire the most blood donations. While there may be some bragging rights on the line, the real winners are the patients and families who rely on donated blood every day.
Community members interested in donating can reserve a time slot by clicking this link and entering sponsor code 7887CC. When you arrive for your appointment, be sure to let staff know you are donating on behalf of the Commerce City Police Department.
