Commerce City provides businesses two online tax filing system options: MUNIRevs (city portal) and SUTS (State's portal).
MUNIRevs (City Portal)
The city adopted MUNIRevs in 2018. With MUNIRevs, businesses can file:
- Sales and use taxes
- Accommodations taxes
- Marijuana sales and excise taxes
- Public Improvement Fees (PIF)
- Telephone utility occupation taxes

Sales & Use Tax System (SUTS, the State Portal)
The SUTS tax filing software was designed by MUNIRevs, the city’s same filing tax system. The process of filing a return is identical; SUTS allows Colorado businesses to file taxes for the 223 plus jurisdictions that make up the Colorado sales tax landscape from one convenient online location.
Additionally, the SUTS portal also includes a Geographical Information System (GIS), a tax rate lookup tool that allows businesses to find the tax rate of any location simply by entering an address.
Other key features of the portal include:
- Taxability and exemption matrix
- Ability to calculate tax rates on items with differing tax rates in the same jurisdiction
- A record of the history of any changes
