COMMERCE CITY, CO., October 9th, 2025: The Commerce City Police Department has concluded our investigation into the July 12th, 2025, shuttle bus versus pickup truck crash on Tower Road that killed one man and injured ten other people.

The crash occurred when the pickup truck was traveling southbound on Tower Road and the shuttle bus—waiting to make a left-hand turn on a flashing yellow arrow at East 81st Avenue—turned in front of the truck, which had the right-of-way.

The truck struck the shuttle bus and as result a 77-year-old man on board the bus was killed, and numerous bus passengers were injured. The driver and passenger in the truck were also transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

After an exhaustive investigation and crash reconstruction by the CCPD Traffic Unit, we are recommending several charges against the bus driver, Kwame Adjei-Broni. Those include Careless Driving Causing Death, Careless Driving Causing Injury, and Failure to Yield.

We will now present our findings to Colorado’s 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. We have appreciated the community’s patience as we worked through a very complex investigation.
