Notice of Encampment Cleanup: 5700 Highway 85

NOTICE

This notice is intended to inform you that the City of Commerce City is planning to conduct health and safety clean-up activities in the area of 5700 Highway 85. Due to accumulation of trash, hazardous materials, biohazards, campfires, or other environmentally harmful activities, this area will be cleared, cleaned, and closed to the public so that it can re-establish its natural characteristics.

This Notice is posted on 7/04/25 and is providing seven (7) days’ notice to vacate the area.

This location is scheduled for clean-up between 7/14/25 and 7/16/25.

Please Remove All Personal Belongings

The City will collect, inventory, and store important personal property (for example, personal identification cards and documents, birth certificates, medical records, legal documents, photographs, cash, credit cards, checks, military records, or any other documents that may be difficult or impossible to replicate or may have significant value to the owner) for 30 days.

Additionally, unattended, uncontaminated property that does not pose a threat to public health or safety and that has apparent value or utility to an individual will be collected and stored.

You may claim the above types of personal property and belongings by setting up an appointment with CCPD Property and Evidence by calling 303-289-3657 (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.). If you need assistance with transportation, please call Community Well-Being at 720-769-5772 to speak with a City employee.

All personal property that is not claimed within 30 days is subject to disposal.
