This city is working to create new community garden plots and invites residents to attend two upcoming open house events to learn more and offer feedback. The proposed locations include a garden site at Bison Ridge Recreation Center in the northern part of the city, as well as another at Freedom Park, serving the core area.

Two identical open houses will be held to give residents multiple opportunities to participate:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 14, 6–7:30 p.m. at Eagle Pointe Recreation Center (6060 Parkway Dr.)

  • Thursday, Jan. 15, 7–8:30 p.m. at Bison Ridge Recreation Center (13905 E. 112th Ave.)

Attendees can review early design concepts, learn about the planning process, and discuss priorities and possibilities for the garden spaces with city staff.

Concept development is funded through Commerce City's allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, while additional funding will be pursued for project construction.

Community gardens can support healthy lifestyles, environmental goals, and neighborhood connections. The City encourages residents to join the discussion, share their experiences, and offer insights that will guide the direction of this effort.
