Road Closure for QuickTrip: 112th Ave. & Highway 85 – Community meeting to be scheduled for April 29.

A temporary closure is planned at the beginning of May on the west side of 112th Avenue at Highway 85 for infrastructure work related to the private QuikTrip development. While this is not a City of Commerce City project, we are sharing this information to help keep the community informed. Seneca will host a community meeting on Wednesday, April 29, from 6-7 p.m. at Belle Creek Family Center to provide more information and answer questions.  All specific closure dates and updates will be posted to this page as they become available.

This work is necessary to install a major sanitary sewer line serving the new QuikTrip development located on the southwest corner of 112th Avenue and Highway 85. The installation includes a 100-foot sanitary line that must be constructed approximately 30 feet below ground to safely navigate and avoid existing underground utilities in the area.

Due to unforeseen construction challenges, Seneca’s project timeline has been delayed by approximately four months as of April 1.

Neighborhood Access & Detours:

During the closure period, all motorists will be directed to use 120th Avenue or 104th Avenue to connect to Brighton Road as primary detour routes around the closure.

To help minimize congestion and maintain safety, drivers are strongly encouraged to follow posted detour signage and avoid using residential streets, including Belle Creek Boulevard, as alternate routes. Maintaining reliable access for neighborhood residents remains a priority during this closure.

Community Impact:

Although this is not a city-funded project, we recognize this closure will impact our residents, businesses, and daily travel. The city is working with partners to help ensure the community receives timely and accurate information and to help ensure emergency services remain uninterrupted during the closure. We appreciate the coordination and support from the South Adams County Fire Department (SACFD) and Commerce City PD to help ensure emergency services remain uninterrupted during the closure. For updates, please continue to follow Commerce City’s communication channels.

What to Expect:
