Curt Holland Golf Tournament surpasses $400,000 for scholarships
Published on August 21, 2026
The 2026 Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament raised an estimated total of more than $60,000 for post-secondary education scholarships. The contributions from this year’s tournament and silent auction increased the six-year fundraising total to more than $420,000 raised since the tournament began in 2021.
The annual event takes place each year at Buffalo Run Golf Course thanks to a partnership of the Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) and the Commerce City Quality Community Foundation (QCF) in honor of fallen CCPD Det. Curt Holland. The funds raised are distributed to Commerce City residents pursuing post-secondary education through QCF Community Scholarships, and to CCPD employees and their dependents through Curt Holland Police Scholarships.
CCPD and QCF wish to thank all the sponsors, partners, golfers, silent auction bidders, and volunteers who participated and made this year’s Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament another resounding success. CCPD Detective and Commerce City resident Curt Holland, 37, was killed in a traffic crash on Oct. 16, 2020 when a drunk driver struck his department vehicle head-on on northbound Highway 2 in Commerce City. Commerce City resident Francesca Dominguez, 31, was also killed in the crash while driving a separate vehicle. Det. Holland spent four years with CCPD, also serving the community as a patrol officer and a member of the traffic unit before being promoted to detective.
