Commerce City is expanding its Traffic Calming Program to make neighborhood streets safer and more comfortable for everyone who walks, bikes, and drives. As part of this effort, the city has launched a new Traffic Calming website featuring a clear, step-by-step guide to request traffic calming studies anywhere in the city and a new interactive map showcasing previously completed traffic calming studies.

The new handbook outlines a specific process for residents to work with their neighbors to request action from the city to address neighborhood concerns. Rather than relying on one-off measures, Commerce City’s approach applies a systems-level perspective, ensuring solutions are effective, appropriate for the context, and do not cause unintended impacts in adjacent neighborhoods or the broader transportation network.
