Sign up for the chance to go green with free compostable containers

Commerce City’s Economic Development Division in partnership with the Energy, Equity, and Environment Division, is inviting local restaurants and food businesses to join the movement toward a cleaner, greener community.
Beginning January 2024, Colorado’s Plastic Pollution Reduction Act prohibits retail food establishments from using expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) containers and single-use plastic bags. To support businesses during this transition, Commerce City is partnering with Plastic Detox to offer free eco-friendly, compostable food containers to two local establishments.
If your business is a restaurant, café, food truck, or fast-food establishment ready to explore sustainable packaging options, this is your chance to test compostable containers and showcase your commitment to sustainability. Selected participants will receive free containers and be featured on the city’s Economic Development webpage as leaders in environmental stewardship.
Apply by emailing nantezana@c3gov.com with your business name, type of food service, and a short note about how this opportunity can help your transition to eco-friendly packaging.
