What makes a great neighborhood? It starts with neighbors who care. This September, the City of Commerce City is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves, connect with one another and make a lasting impact through this year’s MyC3 Day of Service, taking place Friday, Sept. 25, at Prairie Gateway Open Space. This event, as part of the MyC3 initiative is more than a volunteer project, is an opportunity to strengthen community pride while creating a beautiful new pollinator garden that will benefit people, pollinators and the environment for years to come. Volunteers will work in teams to prepare planting beds, install native flowers and grasses, spread mulch, create pollinator habitat and support event operations. No gardening experience is necessary, as city staff will provide instruction, tools and supplies. All volunteers must complete a registration form and sign a liability waiver before participating.
