The City of Commerce City and presenting partner Empowered, Ltd are excited to announce the launch of new Mercado de Derby (Derby Market), a new community market series coming to the Derby neighborhood this summer. Mercado de Derby is a family-first gathering space designed to bring neighbors together around everything from fresh produce and handmade goods to live culture and entertainment. The event blends local small business support and free community programming into one welcoming Sunday event.

Mercado de Derby will run on five Sundays beginning Aug. 2 and continuing on Aug. 16, Sept. 6, Sept. 20, and Oct. 4. Markets will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. along E. 72nd Place between Monaco and Locust streets in the heart of Downtown Derby.

The market creates a space to bring together local businesses, farmers, artisans, and prepared food vendors alongside live entertainment and free family programming. Nearly a dozen Downtown Derby business partners will be offering special promotions and/or discounts for community members on market days. These local businesses are participating through in-store promotions and signage during market hours — stop by the market, then keep the day going with a walk through the neighborhood.
