Commerce City partners with Resource Central to offer Garden In A Box
Published on March 05, 2026
Commerce City has once again partnered with Resource Central to bring residents the Garden-in-a-Box program, a simple, affordable way to beautify your yard while saving water.
Offered through the city’s Energy, Equity, and Environment Division, this initiative provides pre-designed, low-water perennial garden kits that are tailored for Colorado’s unique climate. Each kit includes starter plants, plant-by-number maps, and seasonal care instructions, making low-water gardening easy, even for beginners.
Plant a new perspective this season by ditching a patch of lawn and replacing it with colorful, waterwise blooms that attract pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Not only do these gardens support local wildlife, but they can also save more than 7,000 gallons of water over their lifetime compared to a traditional grass lawn.
Garden In A Box kits start at just $132 and Commerce City residents are eligible for an exclusive $25 discount on their order.
Whether you are looking to tackle a tough spot in your yard or simply want to make a sustainable switch, this is a great way to take action for both your home and the environment. Kits sell out fast, so be sure to claim your discount as soon as possible, starting Wednesday, March 11, for pickup in May/June.
