Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament raises record $82,000 for post-secondary scholarships
COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (Aug. 22, 2025) – The Fifth Annual Curt Holland Memorial
Golf Tournament raised an estimated total of more than $82,000 for post-secondary education
scholarships this year, breaking the prior tournament record from 2022. The annual event is
hosted each year at Buffalo Run Golf Course by the Commerce City Quality Community
Foundation (QCF) and Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) in honor of fallen CCPD
Detective Curt Holland.
The 2025 fundraising estimate from the tournament and silent auction increased the five-year
fundraising total to more than $375,000 since the tournament began in 2021. These funds are
distributed to Commerce City residents pursuing post-secondary education through QCF
Community Scholarships, and to CCPD employees and their dependents through Curt Holland
Police Scholarships.
CCPD and QCF wish to thank all the sponsors, volunteers, partners, golfers, and silent auction
bidders who participated in this year’s Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament. For more

CCPD Detective and Commerce City resident Curt Holland, 37, was killed in a traffic crash on
Oct. 16, 2020, when a drunk driver struck his department vehicle head-on on northbound
Highway 2 in Commerce City. Commerce City resident Francesca Dominguez, 31, was also
killed in the crash while driving a separate vehicle. Det. Holland had spent four years with the
Police Department, also serving the community as a patrol officer and a member of the traffic
unit before being promoted to detective.
