Commerce City accepting award nominations for business recognition

Commerce City, COLO. (Feb. 19, 2026) – Commerce City Economic Development is currently accepting award nominations for its annual Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast. The event recognizes businesses, individuals, and organizations that contribute to Commerce City’s economic vitality. Nominations must be submitted online at c3gov.com/BusinessAwards by Friday, March 6.

"It is our pleasure to recognize the businesses that make a difference in our community,” said Garrett Anderson, Chief Economic Growth Officer. “These awards recognize our business community's commitment to excellence and underscore the significant impact they are having here in Commerce City."

An awards selection committee consisting of business representatives from the community will choose the winners from all the nominations received. Anyone may nominate businesses, individuals, and organizations for awards in the following categories:

  • Business on the Move Award – a recipient who brought new employment, growth in sales, or new capital investment to the city in the last year.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit Award – a company or entrepreneur that demonstrated a pioneer spirit towards new product development, a business start-up, or a company/product growth into new markets.
  • Minority Business Award – a minority-owned for-profit business that contributes to the economic diversity and success of Commerce City.
  • Sustainability Award – a business that has been a catalyst towards sustainability/green practices in Commerce City.
  • Economic Development Award for Leadership – a business or individual that has been a catalyst toward economic vitality in Commerce City through creative leadership, innovation, facilitation, collaboration, or through the contribution of resources.
  • Business of the Year Award – a company that has shown a history of leadership within its industry and the community. The company must have demonstrated longevity and sustained growth that have contributed to the city’s economic sustainability.

The Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave. This event is by invite only. For questions, contact the Economic Development team at RedefiningCommerce@c3gov.com.
