In the upcoming month residents and motorists should plan for temporary traffic and pedestrian impacts along E. 96th Avenue related to ongoing construction of the pedestrian underpass at Telluride Street and Reunion Parkway.

Thursday, Feb. 26 | 7 to 11 p.m.

The traffic signal at Telluride Street and Reunion Parkway will be shut down while crews adjust the span wire signal to accommodate construction. Work is being performed at night to minimize impacts to daytime traffic. During that time, the intersection will be directed by a uniformed traffic control officer.

Two brief roadway closures are also scheduled during the evening work window:

  • One 15-minute closure on E. 96th Avenue to move the span wire crossing the west side of the intersection to a new temporary wood pole.

  • One 15-minute closure on Telluride Street to relocate the span wire crossing the south side of the intersection to a temporary wood pole.

In addition, the sidewalk on Telluride Street between E. 96th Avenue and E. 95th Avenue will be closed Feb. 26. A pedestrian detour will direct foot traffic to the sidewalk on the east side of Telluride Street.

March 2–20 | Two-Week Closure

Second Creek Plaza Drive will be closed from Monday, March 2, through Monday, March 20, for pavement reconstruction through the intersection. Traffic will be detoured to Telluride Street.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to use caution in the area, allow extra travel time and follow all posted detours and traffic control directions.
