Parents and caregivers do not have to navigate challenging situations with their children alone! Commerce City’s Community Well-Being Division, Adams 14 School District, and the Conflict Center are partnering to offer Restoring Peace, a free quarterly four-session course that gives parents and caregivers practical tools to navigate conflict, strengthen communication, and support their children's social-emotional development. Each cohort includes four evening sessions from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Adams 14 District Office, 5291 E. 60th Ave. Dinner and childcare will be provided during each session to help families participate.

Participants will learn practical strategies they can begin using right away, including:

  • Cooling down in the moment

  • Expressing needs and concerns

  • Providing choices

  • Cooperative negotiation

  • Creating learning moments

  • Setting goals

  • Establishing age-appropriate boundaries

  • Practicing intentional listening

A meeting to learn more and register for the upcoming cohort will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Space is limited, complete the short registration form to reserve your spot at bit.ly/RestoringPeace-C3.
