Design Guides & Submission Requirements

When applying for a building permit, the following requirements must be included in the submitted building plans and related construction documents. All submissions must be in an electronic format. Learn more about eplans.

General

• Project name and address.
• Code and year used in the design. See current codes.
• Local design criteria used in the design.
• Minimum scale of ⅛"=1'-0" for commercial plans and ¼"=1'-0" for residential plans.
• If disturbing land, a site-related plan showing the location of the building on the site and corresponding landscaping plan.
• For commercial projects, a key plan indicating location of work.
• Seal and signature of Colorado-licensed design professional. Learn more about Sealed Drawings.
