Commerce City to swear in four City Council members on Dec. 8

Following the certification of the 2025 municipal election results by Adams County last week, it is now official that Commerce City voters have selected four new representatives to serve on the City Council. Those members will be officially sworn into their roles and outgoing councilmembers will be recognized for their service at an organizational meeting of the City Council on Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Commerce City Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Ave.
Commerce City voters have chosen the following individuals to serve on the City Council for four-year terms:
- José Guardiola – Ward I; previously served one term as an at-large representative, 2017-2021
- Joanna Sandoval – Ward III
- Stefanie Trujillo – At-Large
- Lori Young – At-Large
The city would also like to thank and recognize the following outgoing members of the City Council for their service to the community:
- Oscar Madera – Ward I; elected 2017
- Reneé M. Chacon – Ward III; elected 2023 following initial appointment to fill vacancy
- Sean Ford – At-Large; elected 2021, previously served three terms as mayor and another as a councilmember
- Kristi Douglas – At-Large; elected 2021
