Process Improvements

The Community Development Department has implemented improvements to the city’s development review and permit processes. These improvements are designed to increase efficiency, improve communication with applicants, and provide clearer and more predictable timelines for project reviews.

The city will continue to operate under its 3-2-1 development review timeline goal, while introducing process improvements to help ensure that goal is met in 80 percent or more of application reviews. In addition, many building permits processed through Building Safety will operate under a 2-1 review timeline, supporting residents and contractors completing home improvement and construction projects.
