The zoning board of adjustment was established by Ordinance 1016.

Mission

The zoning board of adjustment’s purpose is to hear and determine appeals from refusals of building permits, to permit exceptions to or variations from the zoning ordinance, and issue special permits and make conditional grants for use of property.

Members

The zoning board of adjustment is comprised of eight members. Five members shall be regular voting members, including one city council member. Three alternate members may be appointed by council to serve in the absence of one or more regular members. Members serve a three year term.
