New systems for reporting concerns and submitting permits/applications
Published on April 27, 2023
The city is introducing two new online systems in the coming weeks to streamline numerous processes through the city website. Starting Monday, May 8, all Commerce City licensing, permitting, and development processes can be submitted in one easy location. Residents will also see a new online system for reporting concerns.
eTRAKiT
eTRAKiT is the city’s new online permitting system, which offers an easy, convenient way to apply for many different types of city permits, business licenses, and much more. You can submit applications for development projects, add contractors to your project, pay fees, download permits, schedule inspections, see inspection results, and much more without leaving your home or office. This one cohesive platform will replace the multiple processes that currently exist across many different city departments. This new software is meant to provide a centralized location for residents, contractors, and individuals/companies doing business in the city. The site will include training videos, frequently asked questions and resources for assistance as users get familiar with the new system.
Access C3 from SeeClickFix
Our new Citizen Request Management system “Access C3” will update your user experience to help you submit and track your concerns through our website and/or our brand new Access C3 mobile app. Using AccessC3, you can report concerns, ask questions, track updates on your reports, and see similar reports made in the city in an enhanced software. The mobile app (available for Apple and Android devices) is easy to use and provides quick links to other city resources. Community members can also access the reporting tool online on the website
Keep an eye out for the new system starting Monday, May 8. Until then, visit c3gov.com/AskC3 to report any concern using the existing system.
Below are the process changes and service interruptions organized by department/division:
Building Safety Division:
Streamline the building permit and inspection processes online by applying, scheduling, paying, and reviewing the comments/results on eTRAKiT. Certificates of occupancy, both temporary and permanent, will now have their own separate application. All plans will be submitted digitally in the new system.
Expected service interruptions:
Starting Monday, May 1, the Building Safety Division will not accept any new permit applications or requests for certificates of occupancy until Monday, May 8, when ALL permit applications must be submitted through eTRAKiT. Limited inspections will be conducted and no payments will be accepted between Tuesday, May 2 and Friday, May 5. Payments will be accepted through eTRAKiT starting Monday, May 8.
Code Enforcement Division:
Users can pay non-compliance fees associated with code violations through eTRAKiT.
Through Access C3 – SeeClickFix, community members can now submit Code Enforcement issues and concerns via the new mobile app, or on the improved online experience.
Limited interruptions in the submission of concerns are expected the weekend of May 6-7.
City Clerk’s Office:
Apply and pay for business licenses through the online portal, including special business licenses for marijuana and liquor. Certain open records including permits, licenses, and/or payments made/in-progress will be available in eTRAKiT for public search and will no longer require a public records request through the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA).
No service interruptions are expected for business in the Clerk’s Office.
Planning Division:
Apply for all planning applications through eTRAKiT, including land use applications, rezoning applications, annexations, development applications, and more. eTRACKiT facilitates the process of applying, paying, and following the results of the application all in one place.
No service interruptions are expected for Planning Division business.
Public Works Department:
Utilize eTRAKiT to apply for permits in one single online system, including right-of-way permits, annual longer vehicle combination permits, single trip oversize/overweight permits, development infrastructure permits, grading permits, street occupancy permits, and more.
