Frequently asked questions
How do Contractor’s “Days of Impact” Need to listed on the application?
- Must match days on the permit
- Days you're requesting to be on the actual ROW (whether it’s days actually completing work OR days that equipment will be stored on the ROW). Any signage that is placed in the ROW, whether work is commencing or not, will also be charged as part of the “days of impact.”
- Weekends are included in your days of impact. Even if you do not have crew members working over the weekend, the equipment and signage is still in the City’s right-of-way, and you will need to pay for that.
How does Public Works Handle Permit Extensions?
- Extensions are only approved due to inclement weather or other circumstances. Public Works will review extensions on a case-by-case basis. Please call 303-289-8150 and ask to speak to your assigned inspector or the Project Inspector to discuss the circumstance and potential request for extension.
- We cannot guarantee that all extension requests will be accepted and circumstances that are not approved for extension will be subject to an extension fee on your current permit. The fee will be assessed by street type: local, collector, arterial, based on the Directory of Fees.
How can contractors schedule inspections?
- Please visit the eTrakit User-Guide in Section 2 to get step-by-step instructions on how to schedule an inspection.
- Inspections must be scheduled 24-hours in advance.
- Inspections that fall under “overtime” (after business hours or weekends), these must be scheduled 48-hour in advance. The overtime fees that are subject to this request must be paid for on the Wednesday BEFORE the overtime inspections will commence.
- Please note: The inspector MUST approve the inspection time and date requested, please do not assume that just by applying for an inspection, that it will be scheduled for the specific time and date you’ve requested.
I can’t get the exact address to populate on my application, what do I do?
- You do not need to use the exact address, please enter the closest cross streets and numerical addresses. Once you start to enter this information, the system will populate a sequence of addresses, please choose the closest one.
