Code Enforcement
Ensuring the city is home to neighborhoods everyone can be proud of and maintaining the city’s motto of a “Quality Community for a Lifetime” is a team effort. The Code Enforcement Division works with residents and property owners throughout the city each day to help meet that goal.
The goal of Code Enforcement is to maintain and improve the safety and appearance of private property in the city. Code Enforcement inspectors enforce the ordinances and regulations enacted by the City Council to address public nuisances, property maintenance, and zoning issues on private property that may be detrimental to the health, safety, and general welfare of the community.

Community & Compliance Series
This new meeting series connects residents with valuable resources and insights about property maintenance and city expectations. Four meetings will be held throughout the year, where we will bring city staff and residents together in each of the city’s wards to foster understanding, collaboration, and community engagement.
Each event will feature staff who will provide guidance on maintaining properties and explain available city resources, such as the Snow Guardians program, Tool Trailer program, and the ACT program. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how these initiatives help improve neighborhoods and uphold Commerce City's standards.
Mark your calendar for these dates:
- Wednesday, March 05 at Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, 6060 Parkway Dr.
Note: The event of March 05th was originally scheduled for Feb. 19, however, due to Eagle Pointe Recreation Center serving as warming shelters in response to cold temperatures, the event was rescheduled.
- Wednesday, April 16 at Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave.
- Wednesday, July 16 at Belle Creek Community Center, 10693 Belle Creek Blvd.
