Pursuit of Violent Suspect Ends in Arrest and Nearly a Dozen Charges
COMMERCE CITY, CO., June 10th, 2025: The pursuit of a suspect wanted on nearly a dozen violent charges ended in his arrest late last night.
Commerce City Police Officers were originally called to the 9000 block of East 108th Avenue for a Protection Order Violation; once on scene officers learned that a woman had been held captive against her will by her ex-boyfriend—armed with a weapon—and assaulted for several days.
Officers located the suspect—43-year-old Jason Pacheco— in a vehicle near the residence where the days-long attack had occurred. When we attempted to make contact with Pacheco, he fled the scene at a high rate of speed and due to the violent nature of his offenses, officers initiated a pursuit.
Thanks to the assistance of the Colorado State Patrol and a piece of equipment they used to render the suspect’s vehicle inoperable, that pursuit ended in the 5800 block of I-25. The suspect fled on foot but was located by an Adams County Sheriff’s Office K9 and taken into custody by the Commerce City Police Department.
Pacheco is now facing eleven criminal charges to include Aggravated Felony Menacing with a Weapon, Aggravated Second Degree Assault, False Imprisonment, Vehicular Eluding, and Resisting Arrest.
We would be remiss not to recognize the multi-agency partnership that led to this favorable outcome after days of torture for Pacheco’s victim. We appreciate the collaboration that allowed us to make a successful arrest.
