Commerce City residents looking to complete their high school equivalency diploma have another opportunity this month through the city’s Workforce Pathway Program. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, this program is part of the city’s larger Advancing Commerce City Together (ACT) initiative, which invests in education and career development to strengthen both individuals and the community.

Through a partnership with Metropolitan State University, the GED Preparation Program provides free courses in English and Spanish to help residents prepare for GED testing. Designed to break down barriers to learning, the program supports participants with flexible class options, childcare during class time, and guided online coursework.

Program highlights:
•Classes available in both English and Spanish
•Hybrid model with in-person and online learning options
•Four hours of weekly online coursework with Aztec learning software
•Childcare available during class sessions

The next session will begin on Monday, Oct. 27, with in-person registration required the week before. Register in person during one of the following times at Central Elementary Community School (6450 Holly St.):
•Monday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
•Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 9 a.m.
