Help Commerce City Spread the Love
Each February since 2008, Commerce City's Spread the Love campaign has been encouraging donations of peanut butter and jelly for local food banks. Nearly 5,000 jars were collected during the campaign last year alone!
According to Hunger Free Colorado, a resource connecting families and individuals to food and nutrition resources, nearly 1 in 6 Colorado households with children report an inability to afford adequate food. Each year there is a need for non-perishable food items at food banks following the holiday season when donations are at the lowest and in the highest demand.
Donate jars of peanut butter and jelly throughout February at one of these drop-off locations:
- Commerce City Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Ave.
- Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave.
- Eagle Pointe Recreation Center and Active Adult Center, 6060 E. Parkway Dr.
Cram the Cruiser
The public is invited to help fill city police vehicles with their peanut butter and jelly donations during the annual Cram the Cruiser event, which takes place at local retailers on a Saturday in February.
Dates and locations for the 2020 Cram the Cruiser event are coming soon!
