CDBG program seeks public comments on proposed plan amendments

Post Date:06/10/2020 4:00 PM

The city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program has received a special allocation of funds from the federal government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act is providing nearly $250,000 in additional funds to help the city deal with the effects of the public health crisis. To utilize these funds, the city must amend the 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan’s Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) and 2019 Annual Action Plan (AAP).

The public comment period on these proposed amendments opens Wednesday, June 10 and ends at noon on Monday, June 15. To learn more, view the amendments and submit your comments, visit

Public comment will also be accepted at the June 15 city council meeting. Visit for the meeting agenda and instructions on how to comment at virtual meetings.
