Street Sweeping Begins in March

Post Date:03/09/2020 8:00 AM

With the spring season around the corner, the city’s 2020 street sweeping program begins in March and will continue through November. Residential streets throughout the city are swept four times per year, while most commercial/industrial areas and streets without curb and gutter are swept twice annually. Major arterials are swept as needed throughout year, weather permitting.

To help in the city’s sweeping efforts, residents are asked to:

• Park all vehicles off-street between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. during scheduled sweeping periods
• Trim tree limbs hanging over streets to a height of 15 feet above the roadway
• Sweep sidewalks in front of homes so additional debris can be picked up by sweepers

Your assistance will help keep streets and neighborhoods clean, prevent debris from washing into storm sewers and make street sweeping equipment more effective. Schedules are approximate and subject to change due to inclement weather or mechanical issues.

For more information on the program, visit c3gov.com/streetsweeping or call the Public Works Department at 303-289-8150.
