E. 104th Ave. reopened after police incident

E. 104th Ave. has reopened following a road closure due to a police incident that took place the morning of Feb. 14.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., the Commerce City Police Department was dispatched to the area of 113th Ave. and Iola St. after receiving multiple calls of shots being fired. The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male suspect left the area in a vehicle. Officers located the suspect and vehicle in the area of E. 104th Ave. and Potomac St. Officers attempted to contact the vehicle and the suspect failed to yield. The suspect struck a vehicle in the 14100 block of E. 104th Ave.

Multiple officers engaged the armed suspect. Shots were fired. The suspect was shot and life saving measures were attempted immediately. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers were injured.
