UPDATE: Commerce City seeks applicants for power-utility-box public art

The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council seek artwork designs to transform power utility boxes for the upcoming RTD railroad station at E. 72 Ave. and Colorado Blvd. The designs will be professionally printed and installed around power utility boxes. All artists who reside or work in the City of Commerce City are welcome to apply.
The art theme should incorporate something that relates to railroads or other forms of transit. The application deadline is February 7, 2020, at 5 p.m. Submitted designs must be original artwork and can be created in any medium, as long as it can be represented and submitted in a high-resolution digital image without loss of integrity or quality.
BUDGET: RTD will be providing funds for the production and installation of vinyl wraps as well as payment for the artist's design. Compensation will be issued to the chosen artists for their design(s).
Artists must submit the following application materials for consideration:
- Artist Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, E-Mail
- Digital Images: Applicants may submit up to four individual proposed works of art. Images may be submitted by email or via a travel drive; the recommended image size is between 500-800kb, 200 dpi.
- Image Identification List: Applicants must list the following information for each image provided: artwork title, date of when the art was created, description (one or two sentences), medium, and dimensions for each art submission.
- Application materials may be emailed to Daniela Villarreal at email@example.com.
A short list of semi-finalists may be created and shared, depending on the number of submissions received. The project selection schedule is as follows:
