Grant funding available for local nonprofits
Commerce City’s Quality Community Foundation (QCF) is accepting applications for its 2020 grant program through March 6. Last year, the city awarded 28 grants totaling nearly $139,000 to local nonprofits that benefit the quality of life of residents in Commerce City.
QCF grants provide funding for a wide variety of programs and services in the city, such as emergency housing for homeless families, volunteer organizations, youth services, meals for seniors, and many more. Applications are available online at c3gov.com/QCF and are due on March 6. The city will distribute grant funds in April.
Two grant session workshops will take place for current, past, and prospective grantees to learn more about the application process and meet members of the QCF board to discuss the proposed project/program in a group format.
- February 5: Grant Session Workshop #1 (6 p.m. Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Ave.)
- February 8: Grant Session Workshop #2 (9:30 a.m. Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Ave.)
In addition to the service grant opportunity, QCF is piloting a secondary grant opportunity that supports nonprofits develop their internal infrastructure (capacities and systems) to better serve Commerce City residents. To be eligible for this new grant, the nonprofit must have received a QCF program grant in 2018 or 2019, successfully completed the scope of work defined in the prior grant application(s), and expended all prior grant funds and submitted all grant reports.
