Nominate local youth for the Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award
Commerce City is seeking nominations for the Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award (ACMCYA). The ACMCYA is an annual award program that recognizes Adams County youth in grades 6-12 or under 20 years of age, who have overcome personal adversity and created positive change in their lives.
The ACMCYA is a two-tiered program that honors nominees at the local government and county level. This award encompasses all youth who have overcome different types of adversity despite their circumstances. Last year, there were fourteen nominees from Commerce City.
“City council is honored to recognize young people in our community each year who have overcome challenging circumstances and gone on to serve as role models for their peers,” said Mayor Benjamin Huseman. “The ACMCYA is a great opportunity to demonstrate our support for youth and recognize them for their accomplishments.”
Nomination forms are due Jan. 31, 2020. Youth can be nominated by anyone, including counselors, religious leaders, parents, coaches and teachers. If you know a youth that should be recognized, contact Ali Hall at 303-289-3674 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
