Painting for a Purpose Fall Fundraiser
Paint, sip and socialize to benefit post-secondary education scholarships for Commerce City students; access to recreational programming offered by the city; and grants for nonprofit organizations that serve city residents. The Quality Community Foundation’s Painting for a Purpose event will take place on October 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave. In addition to beer and wine samples available for ages 21 and over, the price includes hors d'oeuvres from the Bison Grill. This year’s event features an artistic Colorado-themed masterpiece painted on a wood plank that you will create, with the guidance of an instructor from Gallery on the Go, and take home. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple and can be purchased online at c3gov.com/qcf. This event sells out fast!
Skills for the Future – A Free Conference for Youth
The Commerce City Youth Commission invites local middle and high school students to prepare for the next steps in their lives and careers at the Second Annual Skills for the Future Conference. This event takes place on October 16 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave. Featured workshops include mental health/ coping mechanisms, money management, and public speaking. Oktoberfest at the Bison Grill

Ghouls’ Night Out Dance for Active Adults
The Active Adult Center at Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, 6060 E. Parkway Dr., is hosting a Halloween dance on October 25 from 6-8 p.m. Meet seniors from other centers, enjoy refreshments, and enter the costume contest. Trunk or Treat at Pioneer Park
Enjoy frightful fun at Commerce City’s 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 26 from 1-4 p.m. at Pioneer Park, 5950 Holly St. Kids ages 2-10 are encouraged to wear their costumes and enjoy treats from local businesses at this FREE event, hosted by the Commerce City Parks, Recreation & Golf Department. Limited parking is available in the parking lot at Pioneer Park. Attendees are encouraged to park on E. 60th Avenue, on Holly Street, or in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Creepy Hollows Fright Night for Grades 6-12
The Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, 6060 E. Pkwy. Dr., gymnasium transforms into a haunted maze for the Fright Night event on October 26 from 7-10 p.m. Youth in grades 6-12 can dance to the DJ, pose in the photo booth, and wander through the haunted maze at this FREE event. Dress up for the costume contest for your chance to win some wicked prizes!
Halloween Treats at Bison Ridge Recreation Center
Spend the evening creating treats instead of tricks at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave. on October 29 from 6-8:30 p.m. Learn how to make Halloween classics like Chocolate bats, pumpkin spice peanut butter cups and mummy cupcakes.
