Auto-pedestrian accident at E. 74th Ave. and Dahlia St.

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (September 13, 2019) At approximately 1:10 p.m., officers of the Commerce City Police Department responded to the area of East 74th Avenue and Dahlia Street reference an auto pedestrian accident.

The Preliminary investigation revealed an adult female pedestrian was in the crosswalk, crossing East 74th Avenue at Dahlia Street. The female was struck by a Nissan sedan being driven by an adult male.

The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with possible serious injuries. The driver and only occupant of the Nissan was not injured.

The Commerce City Police Department Accident Reconstruction team is on-scene, and the investigation is on-going.

Eastbound East 74th Avenue will be closed at Dahlia Street for approximately 2 hours. Traffic is being diverted northbound and southbound onto Dahlia Street.

Driver impairment does not appear to be a factor in this collision. Traffic delays are likely in the area. No further information is available at this time.
