Commerce City Police Search for Vehicle Theft Suspects

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (September 4, 2019) – At approximately 4:45 p.m., a Commerce City Police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspected stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen vehicle refused to stop but officers were able to deploy a tire deflation device and the vehicle was disabled. Two male suspects fled the disabled vehicle and began running through the neighborhoods near E. 80th Ave. and Monaco St. In an effort to keep the community safe, a reverse 911 was activated asking citizens to remain in their homes. With the assistance of a Westminster Police K-9, officers were able to locate one male suspect in the area of E. 76th Ave. and Kearney St. A second male was also arrested in the area.  There is a heavy police presence in the Dupont neighborhood.
