Post Date:06/12/2019 12:33 PM

UPDATE: Due to Friday’s rain and other issues, paving has been delayed and 56th Avenue will remain closed at the crossing into Saturday. The road will reopen as soon as possible after paving is complete.

BNSF Railway has scheduled a full closure of the railroad crossing on E. 56th Avenue about a quarter-mile west of Vasquez Boulevard to remove an abandoned crossing. The closure is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 13 at 7 a.m., with the roadway reopening sometime during the afternoon of Friday, June 14.

Drivers and businesses who typically use E. 56th Avenue between Brighton Boulevard and Vasquez Boulevard should plan to detour north to E. 69th Avenue in order to cross the tracks on Thursday and Friday.

Construction schedules are approximate and subject to change without notice.
